Most visitors to India need a visa, an essential detail often highlighted in any India travel guide. Visitors from Bhutan, Maldives, and Nepal do not need a visa to enter India. Eligible foreigners can get one via the e-visa system. The e-Visa is for tourism and business. It is usually valid for 60 days from the date of entry into India. A traveler needs a passport valid for not less than six months with two blank pages inside it. They may need to apply for a visa at an Indian consulate, like in the U.S. depending on where they are coming from. Some incoming travelers might also need biometrics.
